Kentucky’s nurses play a vital role in protecting patients from bad medicine. They provide more than just healthcare; like our law firm, nurses become patients’ advocates. Nurses are often more familiar with patients’ daily needs and medical histories than physicians, especially in long-term healthcare situations.
Because of their unique bond with patients, nurses can be the best line of defense against medical malpractice. They’re often the first ones to spot it, too. In fact, a nurse practitioner may be the first person a victim of malpractice contacts after suffering from another doctor or hospital’s negligence.
As part of our efforts to prevent future suffering from bad medicine, the Law Firm of Jack Tolliver, MD & Associates, PLLC is investing in the education of Kentucky’s nurses. Our firm is sponsoring five scholarships for Kentucky high school students who will be attending a Kentucky college or university and plan to pursue a degree in nursing. All five scholarship award amounts will be a minimum of $1,000.
By empowering Kentucky’s nurses with an exceptional education and giving them a voice to advocate for the best care on their patients’ behalf, together we can prevent needless suffering and raise the standard of medical care in Kentucky.
